Why I Became a Wedding Videographer and What This Work Means to Me

Bride and groom walking along a white wooden fence in a scenic countryside setting, with the bride smiling back at the groom holding her bouquet under an overcast sky.

Every wedding I film begins long before I show up with a camera. Every moment I capture—every breathless look, every tearful vow, every wild dance-floor laugh—is rooted in a story that began years before I ever dreamed this would be my life.

My story.

And I’m truly grateful you’re here to read it.

How It All Began

I’ve been a wedding videographer for over 6 years, but my love for filmmaking stretches back even further. I grew up with a camera nearby—curious, creative, and always trying to freeze the things I didn’t want to forget.

But the moment weddings entered my world, everything clicked.

It started small—helping a friend, then helping another, then suddenly realizing I was stepping into moments people spend a lifetime dreaming about. Weddings weren’t just events. They were the most emotional, unfiltered, meaningful days of people’s lives. And I had the honor of preserving them.

I fell in love with it instantly.

Why Weddings? Why This Work Means Everything to Me

Weddings have a unique heartbeat. They pulse with family history, personal values, promises about the future, and the rare kind of emotion you can’t manufacture.

I film weddings because:

  • I believe stories matter. Not the scripted ones—the raw, honest, imperfect, human ones.

  • I believe people deserve to relive the moments they never want to fade.

  • I believe love deserves to be documented beautifully and truthfully.

Your wedding day is a once-in-a-lifetime moment, but your film becomes the way future generations understand where their story began. One day, your children—and their children—will see it. They’ll hear the voices of people they love. They’ll witness your beginning the way it actually felt.

That responsibility means everything to me.

What Filmmaking Has Given Me

Weddings changed how I see the world. They taught me to watch closely. To notice the little things—the way a father steadies his breath before giving his daughter away… the way a bride squeezes her partner’s hand during the vows… the way friends erupt in laughter over stories that shaped your relationship.

This job helped me understand what matters, what lasts, and what’s worth holding onto.

It also changed me as a husband and father. Filming love—real love, the kind that endures—makes me slow down, appreciate the small, fleeting moments with my wife and my daughter, Georgia. It reminds me daily of how precious storytelling is.

Where I Am Now — And Why I’m Grateful

Today, after six years, countless weddings, and thousands of moments that still stay with me, I film weddings because I can’t imagine doing anything else. I’ve grown from someone who loved picking up a camera to someone who is obsessed with honoring people and their stories.

Every couple who trusts me gives me the chance to capture something bigger than a highlight film. They give me the chance to capture a legacy.

If you’re here because you’re planning your wedding, know this:

I care deeply about your experience.I care about the emotion behind your day.And I care about creating a film that feels like you.

Your story is already beautiful.Your wedding day will be unforgettable. And I would be honored to create something that lets you relive it forever.
